Plastics Production Supervisor
Shift Schedule:
- Thursday – Saturday: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- Wednesday: 12:00 AM – 6:00 AM
The Plastic Extrusion Production Supervisor oversees daily plastic extrusion operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe execution. Key responsibilities include managing production schedules to meet volume targets, monitoring line efficiency, enforcing safety protocols, and conducting quality inspections. This role leads extrusion technicians and operators, coordinates equipment maintenance, drives continuous process improvements, and maintains detailed production records in full compliance with company policies and safety standards.

This role leads extrusion technicians and operators, coordinates equipment maintenance, drives continuous process improvements, and maintains detailed production records in full compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Duties:
- Shift Management: Supervise daily operations across all plastic extrusion lines and secondary processing equipment.
- Shift Transitions: Conduct 15-minute pre-shift and post-shift briefings with outgoing and incoming supervisors to ensure seamless handoffs.
- Personnel Scheduling & Training: Direct hourly shift schedules, assign tasks, and directly train new extrusion operators and line handlers.
- Operational Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate shift reports detailing extrusion outputs, scrap rates, downtime, and line issues.
Responsibilities:
- Extrusion Process Quality: Enforce product specifications and process controls, including resin blend ratios, line speed, temperature profiles, and die changeovers.
- Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Enforce all workplace safety rules, active participation in the corporate accident prevention program, and proper PPE compliance on the plant floor.
- Material & Scrap Management: Ensure proper handling, tagging, and accounting of resin, additives, and extrusion scrap for the reprocessing department.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify process bottlenecks, reduce startup scrap, and implement lean initiatives to optimize line throughput and efficiency.
