Role Purpose

Sheet metal fabricators transform raw sheet metal (steel, aluminum, copper, etc.) into finished products for industrial, commercial, and consumer applications. They read blueprints, operate fabrication equipment, and ensure products meet quality and safety standards hiringpeople.io +1 .

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine fabrication methods hiringpeople.io +1 .
• Measure, cut, and shape sheet metal using hand and power tools, shears, brakes, rollers, and punches hiringpeople.io +1 .
• Form and join metal parts by welding, brazing, soldering, riveting, or bolting  hireforbelonging.com +1 .
• Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications hiringpeople.io +1 .
• Operate and maintain fabrication machinery such as shearing, punching, forming, and welding equipment hiringpeople.io.
• Troubleshoot and repair existing metalwork or modify designs as needed hiringpeople.io.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and follow safety protocols 
• Document work performed and keep accurate production records 

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or associate’s/bachelor’s degree in metal fabrication or related field preferred  hireforbelonging.com +1 .
• Experience: 3+ years in sheet metal fabrication, welding, or related trades  hireforbelonging.com.
• Certifications: Welding, brazing, or soldering certifications; AWS certification desirable Betterteam +1 .
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, understanding forming and welding processes, and operating fabrication tools hiringpeople.io +1 .
• Personal Traits: Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, problem-solving skills, and physical stamina
