Join us, and find your runway to growth, innovation, and success.**About the Role:**As a Quick Upgrade Captain at JSX, you’ll be at the controls of one of the most innovative aviation experiences in the industry. Your mission is to operate our aircraft safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with all regulations, all while delivering exceptional service to every flight. With typical schedules averaging 3-5 legs per day over 14-16 days per month, we prioritize work-life balance and strive to return you to your home base every night.**A Day in the Life:*****Pre-Flight Preparation***Your day begins one hour prior to departure, giving you ample time to:* Review key flight details in Traxxall, including maintenance status, NOTAMs, fuel loads, weather conditions, and routing.* Collaborate with the Captain to discuss departure and arrival strategies, including diversion planning if needed.* Perform all required pre-flight checks, safety procedures, and flows to ensure the aircraft is clear.***In-Flight Operations**** Operating the aircraft in full compliance with FAA regulations, JSX SOPs, and industry safety standards.* Maintain real-time communication with Mission Control (Dispatch), Ground Operations, ATC, and your Flight Attendant.* Serve as the secondary voice to the Captain in decision-making, ready to act quickly and confidently in dynamic conditions.***Post-Flight Duties**** Assist with quick turn tasks, including light cabin tidying: clean tray tables, cross seatbelts, collect trash, and support the Flight Attendant as needed to ensure an on-time departure.* Log any maintenance in Traxxall and communicate critical updates to Mission Control*Additional responsibilities include:** Participating in recurrent training and performance evaluations to maintain proficiency and grow in your career.* Step in to assist with baggage handling or other duties at smaller airports where ground support is limited.* Consistently represent JSX with the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and Customer, both in and out of the flight deck.**Why You’ll Love This Role:*** You’re More Than a Number: At JSX, you’re a valued Crewmember, not just a call sign.* No Two Days Are the Same: Every flight brings unique challenges and opportunities to shine.* Create Memorable Moments: You’re part of the entire Customer journey, delivering hospitality in the air and on the ground.* Path to Captain: When operational need arises and/or a spot opens, you will be the first to upgrade and jump into the left seat.**What Makes a Successful Quick Upgrade Captain?**We’re looking for someone who is:* **Adaptable:** You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments, adjusting quickly to changing priorities, weather, and operational needs.* **Detail-Oriented:** Nothing gets past you, from preflight checks to final shutdown.* **Critical Thinker:** You can quickly assess situations and make sound, safety-first decisions.* **Customer-Centric:** You take pride in making every passenger feel welcomed and cared for.* **Communicative:** You share information clearly and keep everyone in the loop, from your Captain, Flight Attendant, Grounds Crew, Maintenance, Mission Control, and Customers.* **Proactive:** You anticipate needs, take initiative, and solve problems before they arise.* **Safety-Focused:** You instinctively prioritize safety in every action and hold yourself and others accountable to the highest safety standards.* **Entrepreneurial Spirit:** You bring energy, ownership, and creativity to your role, always looking for ways to improve processes and elevate the Customer experience.**Required Experience:*** High School Diploma/GED* Minimum 2500 fixed-wing total flight hours* Minimum 500 multi-engine hours* Minimum 500 hours turbine PIC* Minimum 100 hours within the last 12 months* No FAA violations/accidents/incidents/suspensions* No significant training/check ride failures**Preferred Experience:*** 3000+ total time* 1000+ multi-engine hours* Embraer 135/145 experience**Skill, Licenses, & Certifications:*** Valid FAA Pilot Certificate appropriate to the aircraft and operating position held.* Current and valid Driver’s license and Passport* Current and valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate* Current and valid ATP or Commercial Multi-Engine Certificate* Current and valid FCC Radio Operator’s Permit**This position requires that applicants be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. JSX is unable to provide current or future sponsorship of an employment-based visa (e.g., H-1B, TN, or similar).****Pay & Perks:**Compensation throughout training is $150.00 (+per diem) daily, which goes up to $259.00 (+ per diem) daily on the line. You are guaranteed a 14-day minimum per month salary. For additional pay, you are eligible for Productivity Pay and quarterly bonuses.* **Health Benefits:** New Crewmember's become eligible for coverage on the 1st of the month following the start date, with medical plans beginning at just $110/month. 100% employer-paid dental & vision, plus up to $2,100 annually for HSA contribution. Short-term and long-term disability coverage at no cost.* **Travel Benefits:** Enjoy free non-revenue standby travel on JSX, plus deeply discounted standby travel on other major domestic & international airlines for you and your qualifying immediate family.* **401(k) match:** 50% of your first 8%* **Generous PTO:** Take time to recharge with our flexible PTO plan.* **Pilot Perks:**Uniform allowance provided to new hires with annual replenishment, along with an EFB (iPad) issued at no cost. Company paid KCM badge and Jumpseat/CASS participant. Incentive pay for being called to fly on all days past a 14-16 day average and additional hours over an 8-hour average duty day.**Additional Information:**May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
