Middle School Science Teacher

The Rivers School - a 6-12 co-ed independent day school in Weston, MA, just outside Boston - seeks professionals who are looking to join a dynamic, innovative, and welcoming school community.

This full-time Middle School Science position starting in the 2026-27 school year includes teaching four classes, co-advising a group of middle school students, and contributing to the school's co-curricular program as a coach or club advisor.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic individual interested in joining a collaborative, thoughtful group of educators passionate about teaching middle school. Candidates must also possess a commitment to professional development and personal growth as a teacher of science and inquiry-based learning, as well as the ability and desire to collaborate effectively with colleagues to develop the department's curriculum and pedagogy. A team-first attitude, sincere care for student well-being, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to advancing the school's DEI mission are also essential qualities for a successful Rivers teacher. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience teaching biology, chemistry, and/or Earth science, preferably at the middle school level. A bachelor's degree in a related subject is required; a master's degree is preferred.

Modern society produces exponential quantities of information with decreasing reliability, demanding students to successfully sort fact from fiction. By teaching students to think critically about what is presented to them, they graduate better prepared to confront our world's most pressing issues in technology, the environment, medicine, and society as a whole. Salary Range: $70,000 - $115,000
