Patient Services Representative / Front Desk Associate

Location: Clinton Township, MI

Schedule:

• Monday–Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Friday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and highly reliable Patient Services Representative to join our team. This role is a blend of front desk, customer service, and administrative support in a fast-paced healthcare environment specializing in prosthetics, orthopedics, and mastectomy care .

You will be the first point of contact for patients—both in-person and over the phone—helping guide them through services, insurance, and care coordination.

• Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally
• Assist patients with insurance questions, eligibility, and pricing
• Schedule appointments and coordinate clinical staff calendars
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations and referrals
• Process and track patient orders in the system
• Maintain accurate and organized patient records and files
• Prepare documentation for imaging and clinical services
• Greet and check in patients, ensuring a positive experience
• Handle patient check-out and discharge processes efficiently
• Manage a mix of scheduled appointments and walk-in patients (~30 daily)

• Fast-paced, patient-facing setting
• 50% phone-based duties / 50% administrative and front desk tasks
• Frequent interaction with patients of all ages, including those experiencing medical or emotional stress
• High-volume Medicaid population with multiple HMO plans requiring careful differentiation

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Positive, friendly, and outgoing personality
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new systems quickly
• Strong attention to detail and ability to retain processes
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently while being a team player

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Macomb, MI.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Macomb,MI.
