Part-Time CT Radiographer Location: 1001 Chesterbrook Blvd Department: Community Radiology Summary Performs a variety of general imaging procedures, is responsible for patient safety protocols and assists the Radiologists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Will function as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishments of their imaging needs and treat all patients professionally. Responsibilities Review imaging orders to determine type of exam, pertinent clinical history and views needed prior to the actual imaging of the patient. Operate imaging equipment using proper techniques and patient positioning to produce high quality images. Operate and troubleshoot scanner, prepare and operate contrast injector. Greets patients—confirming their identification, performing the correct procedures as directed and explaining the procedure to patient and family. Perform quality assurance testing consistent with section protocols. Aid radiologists, doctors and other UPHS team members in completing procedures according to applicable CT protocol. Effectively operate the organizational RIS and PACs systems throughout daily workflow. Comply with OSHA, TJC, DOH and other mandated safety procedures or regulations. Maintain necessary inventory supplies for assigned workstation, rotating stock in an orderly fashion and eliminating outdated items. Participate in the clinical education of students as appropriate. Monitor the patient’s status, tolerance and wellbeing throughout and after the study. Respond to emergency situations according to department policies. Establish and maintain good working relationships and partnerships within the facility and with outside customers of our services. Call in results of STATS and other cases as determined by the Radiologist and department policy. Complete exam in the computer system and make changes as necessary, document procedure code for billing purposes. Operate daily in a manner consistent with UPHS guidelines. Express compassion and hospitality; smile and welcome patients and staff members in any interaction. Notice and act on opportunities to give directions, answer a question or provide information or reassurance. Display sensitivity to feelings of patients, customers, and staff members. Discuss patient issues privately and in an appropriate setting. Stay calm, organized, patient and constructive in stressful situations. Take the time to talk, support and comfort patients before, during and after procedures. Do not discuss patients, patient history or issues with staff or others as required by HIPAA. Credentials ASCP or CT (Required) Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required) Amer Registry Radiologic Tech (Required) Education or Equivalent Experience H.S.
