Job Description

Job Summary:
The Billing Specialist is responsible for managing the full revenue cycle process by reviewing, correcting, and submitting claims, posting payments, and maintaining accurate patient account information to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.

Responsibilities:

• Review and process both paper and electronic claims to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Correct claim errors and resubmit claims to payers promptly.
• Post payments from insurance companies and patients accurately into the system.
• Manage rejections, denials, and correspondence to resolve billing issues efficiently.
• Prepare and review patient statements, follow up on overdue accounts, and arrange payment plans as needed.
• Generate aging reports and escalate accounts requiring further review or action.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
• At least four years of experience in billing, collections, or related financial functions.
• Strong proficiency in computerized billing systems and document management.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to handle complex billing issues and collaborate across departments.
• Knowledge of insurance billing, claim processing, and patient account reconciliation.
