In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining precise financial records, ensuring accounts payable and receivable run smoothly, and supporting the integrity and transparency of Crunchis financial health.This is a flexible, remote contractor opportunity (~20 hours/week) suited for an organized accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong analytical and process skills.Key ResponsibilitiesAP & AR Management: Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate coding, timely vendor payments, client invoicing, and collections tracking.Inventory & COGS Reconciliation: Collaborate closely with the supply chain team to true up sold inventory and accurately track/reconcile Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).General Ledger & Reconciliation: Prepare and maintain precise financial records, ledgers, and journals; perform routine reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, promptly identifying and resolving discrepancies.Financial Reporting: Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes, supporting the preparation of monthly financial statements, schedules, and management reports.Audit & Compliance Support: Assist in compiling supporting documentation and schedules for annual financial audits and tax filings; remain current on relevant accounting standards, best practices, and compliance regulations.Process Optimization: Partner with cross-functional team members to streamline accounting workflows, enhance software integrations, and strengthen internal controls.QualificationsExperience: Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with direct ownership over AP/AR and general ledger maintenance.Accounting Principles: Solid understanding of core GAAP, general ledger mechanics, and financial reconciliation processes.Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., data manipulation, formulas, pivot tables) and hands-on experience with modern cloud-based accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or Zero).Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision, organizational skills, and a high degree of accuracy in handling complex data.Independence & Collaboration: Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently in a remote environment while staying seamlessly connected with the team.Nice to HaveExperience in E-Commerce, Direct-to-Consumer (DTC), Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), or beauty industry accounting.Familiarity with multi-state sales tax regulations and compliance.Prior experience with basic financial reporting, forecasting, or margin analysis.Work Environment & CommitmentType: Independent Contractor (1099)Schedule: Part-Time (~20 hours per week)Location: Remote
