The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Washington invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor without tenure due to funding (WOT), with an anticipated start date of November 1, 2026. This ad will recruit for 2 positions. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a full-time basis for a twelve-month appointment.

The base salary range for this position will be $19,167 - $25,000 per month ($230,004 - $300,000 annually), commensurate with rank, experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Base salary determinations within that range will depend on academic rank. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UWP practice plan in addition to base salary provided by UW. Please note that only compensation provided by the UW is included in UW benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by the UWP practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentives through the UWP practice plan.

The successful candidate will be expected to be responsible for direct patient care in general obstetrics and gynecology and will have opportunities for scholarly work in education, QI and/or research, and leadership. This individual will work in an ambulatory clinic site with a diverse patient population and in L&D and the OR with medical students and residents and will participate in resident and medical student education including clinical teaching, didactics, simulation activities, and QI/Patient safety. The successful candidate will be expected to provide care at multiple sites and to take night and weekend call and provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients. Candidates will be expected to engage in education, leadership, mentorship and research consistent with the academic mission of the University of Washington. Positive factors for consideration include clinicians with several years of experience, but we will also consider new OBGYN graduates interested in practicing at an academic institution.

Our multidisciplinary and patient-centered approach allows us to provide exceptional care for both routine and highly complex medical problems. Our full spectrum care includes adolescent gynecology, family planning, wellness and preventive services through late adulthood, care for normal and high-risk pregnancies, treatment for complicated medical conditions such as breast and gynecologic cancers and pelvic health disorders such as incontinence.

Our department has 11 separate clinical sections and a research division, all led by nationally regarded clinicians and scientists.

Qualifications

Applicants for this position must meet the following minimum qualifications:

• MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
• Board eligibility or certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology or foreign equivalent
• At least one year of experience in managing complex gynecologic referrals including obstetric and gynecologic emergencies.
• At least one year of experience of surgical proficiency in both laparoscopy and open procedure.
• Demonstration of prior outstanding scholarly work in education, research, quality improvement, or administration expertise
• All candidates must be eligible for and able to maintain a Washington State medical license.
