Senior Heavy Civil Transportation Business Development Manager

Overview We are recruiting for a Senior Business Development Manager role in the Transportation market to develop relationships and opportunities in the southeastern U.S. This remote position covers Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, South Carolina, North Carolina, Texas, and Tennessee. The role reports to the Senior Manager of Transportation Sales and works closely with technical Subject Matter Experts to bring value to strategically identified transportation owners, engineering and contractor accounts through well‑advised application of our services and product solutions. Responsibilities Proactively develop, maintain, and expand business relationships with new and existing Transportation Owner, Engineer and Contractor accounts throughout the southeastern US territory. Establish and implement strategic account plans for advancing relationships with key clients within the assigned territory, including development of specific project opportunities focused on driving design‑build and other collaborative project delivery. Deliver presentations on the company’s overall Transportation capabilities and follow up on feedback and inquiries arising from presentations. Participate in sales meetings, sales calls, seminar facilitation, trade shows, industry associations, and the development of other sales and marketing strategies and initiatives. Analyze market dynamics, conditions, and competitive landscapes to determine the best positioning, allocation of resources, and strategies for securing and maintaining new business. Communicate our value proposition as a trusted advisor uniquely qualified to deliver solutions for customer problems and challenges. Meet or exceed activity goals and annual sales goals. Coordinate and/or create and present SOQs, proposals, and bids for RFQs, RFPs, and bids for all opportunities generated and/or pursued within the defined territory. Coordinate between departments (sales, technologies, engineering, operations), including multiple branches across the company, to facilitate necessary collaboration to bring products and services to the Transportation market within the assigned territory. Coordinate and/or attend scheduled pipeline and sales review meetings with the Senior Manager of Transportation Sales Vertical to provide progress reports on sales activity, opportunity development, and sales forecast. Manage all sales activity with prospective clients, existing clients, and opportunities (through all stages) within the company’s CRM system (Salesforce). Qualifications Degree in a technical or construction discipline relevant to the position, or equivalent work experience. 7+ years of experience working in engineered products or the civil construction industry, preferably with experience in the Transportation market in a business development role. Experience in repair processes of existing bridges and new bridge construction. Strong knowledge of the southeastern U.S. civil construction market. Solid understanding of the sales process with the ability to explain that process from identification of opportunity through close of sale. Ability to collaborate across multiple internal teams and effectively navigate within a matrix organization. Physical Requirements High level of activity required, including frequent client and project site visits. Travel may be required, with overnights potentially up to 50% of the time.
