What we want The Research Specialist II compiles and reviews data and metadata and computes projections and performs analysis and tests. What you need to know Salary: Will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience. Location/Schedule: Bryan, TX/Part-Time; May have to work on weekends and/or after normal hours. Responsibilities Research: Compiles and reviews data and metadata. Collects samples and measurements for experiments. Implements and maintains data collection and summarization of field trials. Computes projections. Performs analysis and tests. Makes and records observations and scientific measurements. Assists in auditing protocols. Research Publications Utilizes summarized results in scientific and/or clientele-oriented publications. Prepares and writes proposals to funding agencies and maintains financial accounts related to research projects. Training Trains undergraduate and/or graduate students and other laboratory, technical or field staff involved in research. Develops and maintains training materials for external users. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Six years of related experience in a specialized and relevant field of research. Required Licenses and Certifications May vary with research area. Preferred Qualifications High level experience in confocal imaging and designing experiments for high-throughput screening and other fluorophore analysis Master’s degree in a relevant field Ability to use Elements software and/or coding to design new analysis recipe. Experience in developing imaging methods for high-throughout screening. Ability to troubleshoot issues with imaging instrumentation and data capture and analysis. Ability to add new technologies to address the research question. Experience with imaging with the ability to design sophisticated FRET, 3D multimodal analysis using variety of software. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Familiarity with appropriate laboratory and/or technical equipment. Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software. Attention to detail.
