Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) to provide high-quality care in an inpatient pediatric environment. This role involves managing the health of neonates, infants, children, and adolescents, with a strong focus on evidence-based practice and collaborative care.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, clinically skilled, and comfortable working a rotating schedule that includes both day and night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care for pediatric populations (birth through young adulthood)
• Perform patient assessments, including histories and physical examinations
• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and care teams
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and imaging
• Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Provide education and support to patients and families
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to care planning
• Assist in the development and implementation of clinical protocols and policies

Work Schedule & Structure

• Full-time position
• Rotating day and night shifts
• Typical schedule:
• Alternating weekly shifts (e.g., three 12-hour shifts one week; three 12-hour shifts plus one 8-hour shift the next week)
• Inpatient clinical setting
• Collaborative, team-based care model

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner program
• Active Nurse Practitioner license in the applicable state
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Eligibility to obtain prescriptive authority within required timeframe
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Ability to manage complex patient cases in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)
• Prior experience in pediatric or neonatal inpatient settings
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Experience working rotating or shift-based schedules
