Responsibilities A professional Respiratory Therapist (Certified or Registered) who under the supervision of a Cardio-pulmonary supervisor, the general supervision of the Director of Cardio-pulmonary or a physician performs technical and non-technical duties and tasks which are necessary for the delivery of Cardio-pulmonary services. The compensation range for the role is $41.35- $47.54 (certified) and $46.17-$58.48 (registered) + $2/PDM Rate factor hourly. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity) Qualifications Minimum Education: Graduate of an approved school in Respiratory Care. Minimum Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner preferred. Intubation procedures and Arterial line insertion preferred – requires annual training and competency if intubation and arterial line insertion is part of job function. Required Certification/Registration: Licensed in New York State as a Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist. Minimum Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential by the NBRC. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the NBRC is preferred. New employees with the CRT credential must attain the RRT credential within 18 months of their employment with Catskill. BLS required. ACLS, PALS and NRP encouraged. Physical Requirements: Position will primarily be light work requiring lifting up to 25 pounds with occasional lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling and reaching is required. Requires 20% sitting and 80% standing or walking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken word is required. Working Conditions: Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards. Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 25 lbs. Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
