Your Role on the Team Position Summary: The Staff Nurse Leader oversees clinical functions related to patient care delivery, nursing practice quality, and care standards for the assigned shift. The leader coordinates patient care activities by directing staff and unit functions, maintains clinical nursing skills, and provides break relief coverage. The role involves troubleshooting and resolving issues, acting as a role model, and serving as a clinical resource to staff and patients. What It Takes to be Successful Required Qualifications: Demonstrated leadership experience (four points) within the last three years, such as leading a project team, holding an advanced degree in leadership, serving as a relief PCC, qualified preceptor, practice council member, house supervisor, or EPIC superuser. Full criteria are listed at Five years of recent acute‑care RN experience, including four years in a step‑down or ICU level of care. Complete understanding of patient classification systems and staffing requirements. Bachelor of Science in Nursing for external candidates. Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Effective written and verbal communication in English.
