As a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator at Ryerson, you will be responsible for assisting warehouse management with daily warehouse business activities and planning. This includes optimizing storage of purchased materials, efficient transportation and supply of components to production lines, ensuring accurate shipment of finished goods to customers, efficient storage of stock, future warehouse capacity planning requirements, and tracking and improving the delivery performance to customers.

Roles and responsibilities include administering and operating the organization's warehouse, including processing packaging and storage of supplies, and materials/equipment. You will account for all materials and supplies in the store's facilities and audit goods received at the warehouse. Overseeing receipt, storage, and shipment of materials and related reporting in accordance with established procedures is also part of your duties. You will prepare and coordinate schedules for shipping and receiving materials to control the flow of goods and regulate warehouse space. Ensuring the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and maintenance and protection of facilities and equipment is crucial.

Requirements include successfully passing a skills-based assessment that evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Comfort working with computer systems (Microsoft Office, SAP Annex Freight) is essential. Excellent communication skills are required as you will interact with logistics providers daily. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team is also necessary.

Salary: This position is a Union position. Per Union contract this position pays $29.20. New employees hired shall receive eighty-five percent (85%) of the full rate for the first three months of employment, ninety percent (90%) of the rate for the next three months, and ninety-five (95%) of the rate for the next six months.
