Fire Alarm Service Technician

Responsibilities Install or upgrade fire alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings. Test and repair existing alarm systems. Inspect and ensure alarms are installed according to code. Perform system checks in accordance with fire code. Identify code and system deficiencies. Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting any issues. Report results of work completed in an accurate and timely manner. Respond to emergency service calls. Maintain a clean and safe workspace. Perform other duties assigned by management. Other Duties Inspect and maintain the truck and all related equipment. Operate warehouse equipment, including vehicles, safely. Use personal protective equipment and follow company safety procedures. Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy. Qualifications NICET certification preferred (requires prior experience or training). Knowledge of NFPA standards a plus (including 70 and 72). Experience with commercial and residential fire alarm systems. Strong troubleshooting skills. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and in a team. Clean driving record and reliable transportation. Flexible with scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and out‑of‑town assignments. Ability to display knowledge of fire safety principles, codes, regulations, and official documents. Ability to act in a lead capacity and recognize/report deviations through inspection programs. Knowledge of applying and explaining applicable laws, codes, and regulations. Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and reports. Ability to use or repair small/light equipment and medium machinery. Physical Requirements The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects. The work also requires balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity.
