Role Description The Senior Benefits Financial Advisor is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Portland, OR. This role is responsible for analyzing, modeling, and forecasting the financial impact of employee benefit programs, including health, retirement, and other total rewards offerings. The advisor collaborates with HR, finance, and leadership teams to design cost‑effective benefits strategies, prepare reports and presentations, and support decision‑making on plan design and vendor selection. Day‑to‑day activities include reviewing benefits utilization data, monitoring regulatory and market trends, conducting scenario analyses, and recommending adjustments to ensure alignment with company objectives and budget. The role also involves supporting annual benefits planning cycles, participating in cross‑functional projects, and ensuring that benefit programs remain competitive, compliant, and sustainable. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in benefits financial analysis, including cost modeling, forecasting, and evaluation of plan performance. Strong skills in data analysis and reporting, using spreadsheets and financial tools to interpret complex benefit and cost information. Knowledge of employee benefits programs and total rewards, including health, welfare, retirement, and related regulatory requirements. Ability to collaborate with HR, finance, and leadership stakeholders, translating financial insights into clear recommendations. Experience preparing professional presentations, written summaries, and business cases for benefit plan changes. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, human resources, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CEBS, CPA, CFA, SPHR) is beneficial. Prior experience in benefits or compensation analysis, preferably in a large corporate or utility environment.
