Registered Nurse - Acute Care

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour day/night rotation with weekends scheduled as needed.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality patient care in an acute care setting. The unit has a total of 30 beds and operates with a patient ratio of 1:6, which may extend to 1:7. RNs are required to be comfortable with this ratio and will work under the supervision of a charge RN, who will also carry an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care for diagnosed conditions such as CHF, COPD, cellulitis, cholecystitis, appendicitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and acute kidney injury (AKI).
• Titrate drips, specifically heparin, based on aPTT results.
• Collaborate with nursing aides (PCTs) on the unit to support patient care activities.
• Monitor patients with telemetry systems watched remotely by monitor techs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold BLS and NIHSS certifications.
• Valid RN license preferred, but not required for submission.
