Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of purchase orders and vendor invoices. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction, manufacturing, or a related project-based industry where purchase orders, vendor coordination, and job costing are critical. Key Responsibilities Generate and manage purchase orders (POs) from creation through execution and closeout Review vendor invoices for accuracy, coding, PO matching, and approvals Verify pricing, quantities, and delivery details against contracts, POs, and receiving documentation Coordinate with project managers, operations, and procurement to resolve invoice discrepancies Enter and maintain accurate AP records in the accounting system Prepare and initiate vendor payments via check or ACH according to payment terms in a timely manner Maintain vendor files, including W-9s and payment information Assist with month-end close processes, including AP aging review and accruals Ensure compliance with internal controls and company purchasing policies Support vendor relationship management by responding to payment inquiries and maintaining clear communication Identify opportunities to improve AP workflows and process efficiency Experience and Competencies 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience Strong experience with invoice review, coding, and reconciliation Experience in construction, specialty contracting, flooring, manufacturing, or materials supply industries Familiarity with job costing, project-based purchasing, or inventory-related AP processes Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently Strong communication and vendor coordination skills Ability to manage multiple invoices and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Experience with ERP or accounting systems used in construction/manufacturing environments Compensation and Benefits Salary range disclosed per local law.
