Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Part-Time)Reports to: Outpatient Program Manager Location: Hasbrouck Heights, NJ Status: Part-Time (up to 20 hours per week; 2 in-office days, 1 hybrid day)Summary of the PositionThe Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing psychiatric care to clients receiving outpatient mental health services at Savia Community Counseling. This role functions as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team and supports a collaborative, client-centered model of care.The PMHNP provides services to clients who have already completed an initial therapy evaluation and works closely with therapists and leadership to ensure continuity, quality, and appropriateness of care. This position requires strong clinical judgment, timely documentation, and collaboration with internal teams.In addition to psychiatric evaluations and medication management, the PMHNP may provide clinical oversight of the agency's Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) program, including patient evaluations, initial motor threshold mapping, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical monitoring.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care & Service DeliveryConduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations in an outpatient settingDevelop, implement, and monitor individualized medication treatment plansProvide ongoing medication management, monitoring of symptoms, and adjustment of treatment as clinically indicatedAssess risk, safety, and level of care needs, making appropriate referrals when necessaryEducate clients (and families when appropriate) on diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and potential side effectsProvide psychiatric services both in person and via telehealth in accordance with New Jersey regulations and organizational policiesCollaboration & Integrated CareCollaborate closely with outpatient therapists, supervisors, outpatient program manager and other providers to ensure coordinated and integrated treatment planningParticipate in clinical consultations, case discussions, and interdisciplinary meetings as requestedCommunicate effectively with referral sources and internal team members to support continuity of careDocumentation & ComplianceMaintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation within the electronic medical record (EHR)Ensure all documentation meets agency, payer, and regulatory requirementsComply with HIPAA, professional standards, and ethical guidelinesProfessional PracticeStay current with evidence-based psychiatric practices and psychopharmacology standardsParticipate in required trainings and continuing education activitiesUphold Savia Community Counseling's mission, values, and standards of careTranscranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) ServicesEvaluate patients for appropriateness of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment through psychiatric assessment and clinical determination.Perform the initial TMS motor threshold determination (mapping) and establish individualized treatment parameters in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and evidence-based clinical practices.Develop and approve each patient's TMS treatment plan and provide clinical oversight throughout the course of treatment.Collaborate closely with the TMS Technician to ensure safe and accurate implementation of the prescribed treatment protocol.Monitor patient progress throughout treatment, evaluate clinical response, address side effects, and make treatment adjustments when clinically indicated.Re-evaluate patients at appropriate intervals to determine treatment effectiveness and the need for continuation, modification, or completion of TMS therapy.Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to TMS evaluations, mapping, treatment plans, and follow-up visits within the electronic health record (EHR).Collaborate with the administrative team regarding prior authorizations, medical necessity documentation, and insurance requirements when applicable.Participate in required TMS trainings and maintain competency in current clinical protocols and manufacturer recommendations.QualificationsMaster's or Doctorate degree in Nursing with a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specializationBoard Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)Active and unrestricted New Jersey Nurse Practitioner licenseMinimum of 3–5 years of experience providing psychiatric evaluations and medication management in an outpatient or similar settingExperience administering Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) preferred but not requiredStrong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and ability to work independently within a team-based modelWork Environment & SupportSupportive, collegial multidisciplinary clinical teamFull administrative support including scheduling, billing, credentialing, marketing, and office managementModern electronic medical record systemClient-centered treatment model: all new clients complete an initial therapy evaluation prior to psychiatric services
