Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a Long Term Care Contract Pharmacist to support medication management for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care providers. The position requires a detail-oriented professional to ensure accuracy in dispensing and clinical support within a busy pharmacy environment.
Location: Butler, PA
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week
- Pharmacy hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Sunday 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Assignment Duration: 1-month contract with potential extension; candidates open to an 8-week contract will be considered
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify orders entered by data entry technicians for accuracy and compliance relating to long-term care patients
- Inspect blister-packed medications, as well as sterile and non-sterile pharmaceuticals
- Respond to clinical inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians to provide appropriate medication guidance
- Perform controlled substance counts and maintain up-to-date perpetual inventory records
- Review and verify emergency medication boxes for readiness and accuracy
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
- Active pharmacist license in Pennsylvania and in good standing
- Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy practice experience; Long Term Care experience preferred
- Proficient in pharmacy operating systems such as QS1, Docutrack, and PCC
- Physical ability to sit, stand, use fine motor skills, have visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds
