ASSISTANT NURSE MANAGER / EX TRACORPOREAL RESOURCE NURSE (RN)- HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER - (36 HOURS PER WEEK) DAY SHIFT

The EXTRACORPOREAL RESOUCE NURSE (RN3/ASSISTANT NURSE MANAGER) will play a piv otal role in coordination with the Program Manager for Dialysis and Transfusion overseeing the day-to-day operations of extracorporeal therapies including ECMO CRRT HD Dialysis Transfusion services ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and adherence to regulatory standards. This position promotes operational efficiency supports hospital-wide educational initiatives and champions continuous learning to maintain staff proficiency in the latest techniques protocols and best clinical practices. By fostering a culture rooted in safety collaboration and innovation thi s role will enhance team performance and patient outcomes. The role encompasses both administrative and clinical responsibilities including staff development interdisciplinary coordination and the implementation of quality improvement strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership :
A ssist in man aging/coordinating staffing and resource allocation for extra corporeal services.
Educational Program Development:
Continued support /refinement of current comprehensive training programs for new and existing extracorporeal nursing staff.
Develop educational materials online modules hands-on training sessions and writing policy and procedures as needed.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in extracorporeal care and integrate them into training programs.
Staff Training and Development:
Conduct orientation sessions for new staff and ongoing training for current staff.
Provide one-on-one coaching and mentorship to nursing staff.
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments.
Clinical Support:
Assist in the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
Be available to provide clinical support mentorship and guidance to nursing staff
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
Quality Assurance and Improvement:
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Monitor and analyze clinical performance data to identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement action plans.
Research and Evidence-Based Practice:
Promote the use of evidence-based practices in extracorporeal care.
Conduct and support clinical research projects related to dialysis.
Disseminate research findings and best practices for nursing staff.
Other duties as assigned
SCHEDULE:
90% FTE (36 hours per week) Day shift with potential for on-call duties.
LOCATION & WORKING CONDITIONS:
Harborview Medical Center Campus- Seattle First Hill
Work in a clinical environment with exposure to patients and medical equipment lifting >10 lbs. ability to push heavy dialysis equipment throughout hospital.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) required; M asters degree preferred.
Licensure: Current WA RN license
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience with at least 2 years in ICU setting.
C urrent or recent ECMO operator and CRRT
MTP nurse experience preferred .
Certifications: BLS and ACLS CCRN and ECMO specialist Certification preferred .
Desired Experience Previous experience in nursing education or staff development and current knowledge of Harborview extracorporeal services .
Skills: Strong leadership communication and organizational skills. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems Microsoft Office skills.
