Environmental and ROW Compliance Specialist who will be responsible for conducting detailed research on environmental, historical, and right-of-way constraints that may impact fiber deployment projects. Identifies permitting pathways and approval timelines before engineering and construction begin. Individual will be working with Sales, Engineering Vendors and Major Infrastructure teams to produce compliant and on time RFP responses. This position will also be responsible for following these specialty permits through the process to achieve full compliance at time of construction.

• Review environmental constraints along proposed routes
• Research wetlands, floodplains, protected species, and habitat impacts
• Investigate historical preservation requirements
• Evaluate railroad, DOT, and utility corridor restrictions
• Determine permitting requirements for sensitive areas
• Support route feasibility studies
• Locate vendors to support the permit package requirements
• Working with engineering to prepare and submit specialty permit packages to entities, reviewing/ redlining permits between engineering vendor and AHJ

•    Building relationships with key individuals at the municipalities to ensure we understand requirements and timelines for approvals.
•    Work with municipalities to find ways of being more efficient with the process so we can receive permits in a timelier manner.
•    Able to effectively communicate between municipalities, engineering and construction vendors to resolve issues from a design submittal perspective and provide timely updates
•    Work within our Project Management software system or creating project trackers to ensure all packages are recorded and reportable as to the status of permitting for all fiber segments or spans.
•    Other duties as required.

• Proficiency in KMZ/KML interpretation using tools like Google Earth and ArcGIS
• Understanding of HDD design, construction, aerially make-ready, restoration process
• Experience with pulling ROW maps, and territory boundaries
• Familiar with AHJs such as Environmental Protection, Army Corps, Railroads, ect.
• Knowledge of overall ROW permit processes
• College degree and/or equivalent 3 to 5 yrs experience in similar field.
  •    Positive attitude, and eagerness to learn new things, team player.
• Must be detail oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  •    Working on a computer and Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge
