Role Summary 

The Showroom Merchandiser is responsible for executing visual merchandising strategies, showroom presentation standards, product placement, floor-set changes, signage execution, inventory presentation, and special merchandising projects within assigned locations. This role serves as a key partner to the Visual Manager in maintaining a showroom environment that supports Team Members, creates memorable Guest Experiences, and drives operational excellence. 

The Showroom Merchandiser plays a critical role in ensuring that every guest-facing area reflects FDE's visual standards, merchandising strategy, and commitment to creating unique, personalized, memorable, and repeatable experiences for our Guests.

• Essential Functions 

Visual Merchandising & Product Presentation  

• Execute all corporate visual merchandising standards, directives, and presentation strategies. 
• Maintain furniture placement, lifestyle displays, bedding galleries, accessories, signage, and promotional presentations. 
• Ensure all visual areas reflect current visual direction and merchandising priorities. 
• Support floor-set changes, product launches, seasonal resets, and showroom refresh initiatives. 
• Maintain visual consistency and presentation standards throughout the store. 
• Identify opportunities to improve product storytelling, showroom flow, and overall visual impact.

Showroom Readiness & Guest Experience  

• Maintain a showroom environment that is clean, organized, visually compelling, and guest-ready at all times. 
• Partner with Housekeeping Associates and Showroom Maintenance Associates to ensure presentation standards are consistently achieved. 
• Support store readiness for promotional events, VIP events, grand openings, and special business initiatives. 
• Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify and address presentation opportunities. 
• Serve as an ambassador of the FDE Guest Experience by ensuring the physical environment supports an exceptional shopping experience. 

Inventory Presentation & Warehouse Support  

• Assist in maintaining inventory presentation standards within showroom and warehouse environments. 
• Support product receiving, staging, and preparation for floor placement. 
• Assist with furniture movement, floor moves, and merchandising projects. 
• Ensure product displays remain organized, properly signed, and presentation ready. 
• Support inventory organization efforts that improve efficiency and execution. 

Cross-Functional Partnership  

• Partner with Sales Teams to ensure product presentation supports selling priorities. 
• Collaborate with Operations Teams to support store readiness and execution initiatives. 
• Work closely with Facilities and Maintenance Teams to address presentation-impacting concerns. 
• Support communication and execution of corporate merchandising initiatives. 

Project Execution  

• Support new store openings, remodels, showroom refreshes, and special visual projects. 
• Assist with setup and execution of marketing events and promotional initiatives. 
• Participate in store-wide projects requiring visual merchandising expertise. 
• Support regional visual projects as assigned. 

Business & Sales Support  

• Support sales performance through exceptional visual execution and showroom presentation. 
• Ensure visual standards support guest engagement, product storytelling, and ease of shopping. 
• Support stores during major promotional periods, holiday events, and business initiatives. 

Schedule Expectations 

• Scheduled to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. 
• Additional hours may be required during major product launches, promotional periods, store openings, remodels, and special projects. 
• Occasional travel to support regional locations may be required. 
• Schedule subject to change based on business needs. 

Education & Experience Requirements 

• 1-3 years of retail visual merchandising, design, merchandising, retail operations, or related experience. 
• Furniture, home furnishings, specialty retail, or showroom experience preferred. 
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. 
• Ability to lift, lower, push, or pull furniture up to and in excess of 100 pounds with assistance or appropriate equipment. 
• Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the showroom for extended periods. 
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills. 

Physical Requirements  

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. 
• Ability to lift, lower, push, or pull furniture and visual materials up to and in excess of 50 pounds with appropriate support or equipment. 
• Ability to participate in showroom moves, resets, visual projects, and store-impact initiatives. 
• Ability to travel between store locations and company meeting locations when needed.
