What You Will Be Doing Facilitating one‑hour life‑skills sessions for K‑8 groups on public speaking, concentration, feedback, and other foundational competencies, customizing the framework and creating new sessions when a need is identified. Conducting daily individual and small‑group motivation meetings that drive every student to 100% completion of their weekly app targets, leveraging Coachbot data, Alpha's incentive structures, and personal connections to overcome resistance. Delivering the Test2Pass (Alpha's mastery‑based evaluation) for each life skill and working with students who fall short until they achieve mastery. Adjusting the approach across a broad age spectrum, from kindergarteners requiring high energy and physical activity to 8th graders needing candid conversation and personal accountability. Serving as the trusted adult who maintains expectations; warmth creates credibility to challenge, and challenging demonstrates confidence in students. What You Won’t Be Doing Teaching at a whiteboard; content instruction is embedded in the applications, not delivered by you. Creating curriculum from the ground up; you activate an established framework through energy and narrative. Monitoring students at workstations; motivation is direct, individualized, and persistent. Reducing a weekly target to enable a student to reach it; the solution is to support the student, not adjust the goal. Grading assignments, preparing standardized test materials, or handling parent outreach; Campus Leads manage these responsibilities. Counselor Key Responsibilities Guarantee that every student in your K‑8 group achieves their weekly learning objectives, demonstrates mastery of each life skill, and concludes the year affirming they loved you. Basic Requirements Able to work on‑site at any listed Alpha campus (relocation assistance available). Bachelor's degree in any discipline. Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with K‑8 students (classroom instruction, coaching, tutoring, camp leadership, or youth program facilitation). Concrete example, articulate, of motivating a K‑8 student toward a challenging objective: the objective, your approach, and the result. Comfort with AI managing instructional content while you concentrate on motivation and life‑skills development. Regular use of generative AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude). Authorization to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship (or in Canada for the Toronto campus).
