Radiation Therapist

Under general supervision, the Radiation Therapist administers radiotherapy treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring patient safety and comfort. They provide essential care and procedures within their scope of practice, adhering to established standards, policies, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments using advanced equipment according to clinical guidelines.
• Obtain and document patient history, address questions, and explain treatment procedures.
• Monitor patients during treatment for any adverse reactions or unusual events.
• Coordinate with medical team, including physicists and support staff, to ensure treatment accuracy.
• Prepare treatment rooms and equipment, safely transferring and positioning patients for procedures.
• Maintain detailed electronic and written documentation of treatments, patient responses, and progress.

Qualifications:

• Hold an associate's degree in radiography with certification in radiation therapy; a bachelors degree preferred.
• Be a licensed radiation therapist in the state of Ohio and ARRT certified.
• Possess a minimum of 1-2 years of radiation therapy experience.
• Demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Show commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to safety standards.
