Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend and Holiday Required

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments and maintain current nursing care plans for all assigned patients
• Administer medications safely and consistently in accordance with applicable state practice standards and facility policies
• Manage care for medical-surgical patients including those on remote telemetry monitored by a monitor technician
• Provide care involving TPN, nasogastric tubes, surgical drains, and heparin drips
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to establish and implement individualized discharge and continuing care plans
• Serve as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement initiatives within the department

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of practice or covered by compact licensure
• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
• NIH Stroke certification required
• Must pass Dysrhythmia exam at orientation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with surgical patient populations including post-operative care
• Familiarity with remote telemetry monitoring in a medical-surgical setting
• Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification (RN-BC or CMSRN)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
