Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 2 years of experience and Draeger vent proficiency for a night shift travel assignment at a Level II Trauma acute care hospital in Bridgeport, CT.

Job Details

• Short-term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds, part of the Yale New Haven Health System,
• Level II Trauma Center,
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM,
• Every other weekend required, with holiday coverage as needed,
• Travelers should expect to rotate through all areas of the hospital, including NICU and Pediatric units; floating frequency depends on census and staffing needs,
• NICU experience preferred but not required,
• Charting in Epic (required),
• 13-week contract (26-week extensions considered),
• Free parking available on site,

Job Requirements

• Active CRT or RRT credential plus CT state license required (if applicable; CT license takes 15-21 business days to issue - apply early),
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the submitted specialty,
• Minimum 1 year of Level III or IV NICU experience required,
• Level II Trauma Center experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred,
• Acute care hospital experience required,
• Teaching hospital experience required,
• Draeger vent experience required,
• Prior travel experience required; candidates with sub-13-week contracts in their work history may not be considered,
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, CRT or RRT; CPFT, NRP, and PALS preferred,
• Experience with neonatal oscillating ventilators and high-frequency jet ventilators is highly relevant to this role,
• 1 professional reference required for consideration,
• Flu vaccine required; declinations are not accepted,
• COVID vaccine required; religious/medical exemptions considered,

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across multiple units including adult critical care, ED, NICU, and pediatric areas,
• Travelers may be asked to orient students or new hires as needed,
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed,
• Previous employees who worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 2 years to be eligible to return as a traveler,
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position,
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved; any vacation plans between sign date and start date should be communicated upfront,
• All RTO requests must be finalized prior to offer acceptance - additional RTO will not be approved after that point,
• Completion of non-billable orientation modules is required prior to start and annually thereafter
