We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support essential financial operations for an education-focused organization in Huntersville, North Carolina. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage recurring accounting activities with accuracy, maintain organized records, and contribute to timely financial reporting. The role offers the opportunity to work across billing, reconciliations, and student-related financial transactions while helping ensure dependable month-end and quarterly close processes.

Responsibilities:
• Perform detailed reconciliations of general ledger accounts and investigate variances to maintain accurate financial records.
• Support month-end closing activities by preparing entries, validating balances, and ensuring reporting deadlines are met.
• Process tuition-related transactions, prepare invoices, and maintain billing records with a high level of accuracy.
• Assist with scholarship-related accounting tasks, including tracking awards and recording associated financial activity.
• Prepare and organize quarterly financial reports by compiling data, reviewing supporting documentation, and confirming completeness.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including reviewing transactions and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintain accounting documentation and support routine financial operations in alignment with established procedures.• Experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and day-to-day accounting operations.
• Proficiency in account reconciliation with the ability to identify and resolve inconsistencies.
• Background in billing functions, including invoice preparation and transaction tracking.
• Familiarity with month-end close processes and periodic financial reporting.
• Ability to manage tuition-related and scholarship-related financial records accurately.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to data accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal stakeholders.
