Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. The RN is dedicated to patient and employee safety while providing superior care in accordance with the Select Medical Way and Core Values.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to the patient's diagnosis through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and utilize the nursing process for direct patient care while prioritizing education.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission, ensuring continuity of care.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to support care continuity and safety.
• Supervise and support ancillary nursing personnel through effective delegation and problem-solving techniques.
• Contribute positively to the unit's function by reassuring staff, patients, and families and promoting teamwork.
• Assure personal and environmental safety in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS and ACLS certifications are required prior to the first shift.
• A minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
• Experience in ICU and critical care is required.
