We are seeking an experienced Buyer responsible for purchasing functions in order to meet the clients’ needs in terms of delivery, inventory, cost and quality.

Responsibilities include:

• Generates, adjusts and expedites purchase orders based on the MRP (material requirements planning)
• Issue requests for quotes/proposals (RFQ/RFP) and select best source consistent with cost, quality and delivery requirements for electronic components, mechanical components and electro-mechanical components.
• Ability to evaluate bid responses, negotiate price, delivery schedules, and place purchase orders in accordance with policies, procedures and government regulations.
• Work with suppliers on rejected material and claims resulting from purchase order changes or terminations.
• Identify, develop and manage effective relationships with existing and potential suppliers of goods/services to meet the established cost, quality and delivery commitments
• Act as liaison between suppliers and departments to resolve procurement related problems.
• Negotiate and manage long term pricing agreements on critical commodities.
• Monitor supplier performance and take corrective action as necessary.
• Works closely with Supply Chain Manager/Sr. Buyer to evaluate and consider make/buy decisions
• Resolve invoice issues and work closely with finance for supplier payments
• Perform other procurement tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 5+ Years experience in Purchasing and Manufacturing environments
• Comprehensive knowledge of Supply Chain operations with advanced analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, agreements, and procedure manuals as well as speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization.
• Strong computer proficiency (MRP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to provide accurate concise management summary of status and information.
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident due to ITAR regulations
• Ability to successfully execute duties under pressure from deadlines.
