Associate Accountant

Our Business Support services allow Swedish companies to outsource administrative and operational tasks to Business Sweden teams around the world allowing our clients to concentrate on the core business growth and development.As an Associate Accountant at Business Sweden, your job will focus on delivering operational support services and fostering close collaboration with clients. The role is based in Chicago, but you will have a chance to collaborate with our teams and clients around the world, as required.The role includes both tactical and operational responsibilities such as:Preparing financial statements and reports by gathering and analyzing information from clients' general ledger systems.Preparing and recording journal entries while maintaining accounting records and supporting documentation.Managing accounts payable activities, including expense accruals, payment processing, and disbursements.Managing accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, revenue recognition, customer payments, and reconciliations.Performing payroll tax and sales tax registrations and supporting compliance requirements.Completing cash and bank reconciliations and assisting with management reporting and limited forecasting.Researching and responding to accounting and financial questions from clients.Supporting special projects and other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as needed.Core competencies and collaborative skillsDemonstrate commitment, integrity, and accountability in all tasks and client interactions.Manage multiple clients and competing priorities while consistently meeting deadlines.Deliver high-quality work with strong attention to detail and accuracy.Collaborate effectively with team members and clients to achieve positive business outcomes.Contribute to a positive team culture through open communication and a proactive attitude.Adapt quickly to changing business needs and embrace new challenges.Take ownership of assignments and ensure timely and accurate delivery.Build strong relationships with clients while providing excellent customer service.Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to accounting and financial matters.Share ideas, contribute perspectives, and support continuous improvement.Formal requirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.0-3 years of relevant accounting, bookkeeping, or finance experience.Knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.Experience supporting multiple clients, entities, or business units is preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Experience working with QuickBooks.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.A PlusExperience supporting small businesses across various industries, including manufacturing, retail, and e-commerce.Knowledge of sales tax administration and payroll processing.Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.Why Join Business Sweden?Work with clients across multiple industries and markets.Be part of a collaborative, ambitious, and supportive team environment.Gain exposure to a broad range of accounting and financial responsibilities.Play an important role in supporting our growing client base and expanding service offerings.Develop professionally while working in an international business environment.ApplicationPlease submit your application as soon as possible, as we will be screening applications on a rolling basis.
