Role Description The Head Boys Soccer Coach is a full-time, on-site role located in Miami, FL, responsible for leading the boys soccer program at Mater Academy Bay. The coach plans and conducts daily practices, designs training sessions that develop technical skills, tactical understanding, and physical conditioning, and prepares the team for league and tournament competition. This role includes managing game-day operations, developing lineups and strategies, and ensuring adherence to school, district, and association rules. The coach monitors players’ academic progress and behavior, communicates regularly with families and school staff, and promotes a positive team culture centered on respect, sportsmanship, and safety. Additional responsibilities may include organizing tryouts, coordinating equipment and field use, and supporting broader athletic department initiatives. Qualifications Demonstrated soccer coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level, with strong knowledge of boys soccer rules, tactics, and player development. Ability to design and implement structured practice plans focused on technical skills, fitness, teamwork, and game preparation. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to mentor student-athletes and collaborate with school staff and families. Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment, with an emphasis on academic accountability and sportsmanship. Organizational skills for managing schedules, equipment, travel logistics, and compliance with school and league regulations. Relevant coaching certifications or licenses (such as NFHS or USSF) preferred; CPR/First Aid certification highly beneficial.
