*Job Requirements * Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse (CVOR RN) Position Summary: Join the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center's* Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) team as a Full-Time CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)*. Working in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment, you will independently circulate a diverse range of cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures, including CABG, AVR, Mitral Valve Repair/Replacement, Tricuspid Valve Repair, and advanced endovascular cases . You will collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure seamless surgical operations, outstanding patient outcomes, and the highest standards of cardiovascular care. This role is ideal for an experienced CVOR RN who thrives in a highly specialized surgical environment, demonstrates exceptional clinical judgment, and is committed to delivering outstanding perioperative care while helping drive exceptional cardiovascular surgical outcomes and an outstanding patient experience. Schedule Details: 4 x 10-Hour Shifts | 6:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. | Rotating Weekends & Holidays. Key Responsibilities: The following statements describe the general nature and level of work performed and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties. * Independently circulate high-acuity CVOR cases including open heart, vascular, & thoracic procedures; drive safe, efficient case flow & anticipate team needs. Coordinate care across surgeons, anesthesia, & interdisciplinary teams; maintain accountability for patient outcomes throughout the surgical episode. Execute evidence-based CVOR practices while upholding sterile technique, patient safety, & surgical quality standards. Support performance improvement initiatives, NSQI goals, & workflow optimization efforts. Serve as a clinical resource & unit leader; step into charge role as needed. Precept & mentor staff while supporting ongoing clinical development & team performance. Perform other duties as assigned. Schedule Details: 4 x 10-Hour Shifts | 6:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. | Rotating Weekends & Holidays. Licensure & Experience: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maryland or Compact eligibility in accordance with MBON, required. Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, required. Minimum of 2 - 3 years of Operating Room experience, required. Minimum of 1 - 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) and/or open-heart surgical experience, required. Demonstrated clinical experience supporting complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures. Proven ability to independently circulate high-acuity, complex cardiovascular surgical cases in a fast-paced operating room environment. ?Must be able to independently circulate cardiovascular surgical procedures, required.
