This role offers a dynamic opportunity for a skilled surgical technologist to collaborate closely with nursing and surgical teams. You'll be instrumental in supporting general surgical procedures, anticipating the needs of the surgical staff, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the perioperative process.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Proficient with ORT/Nursing duties within a surgical environment
• Demonstrated ability to handle sterile instruments and operate equipment safely
• Strong knowledge of proper aseptic techniques and infection control standards
• Excellent team collaboration and communication skills
• Gentle, patient-focused approach and respect for confidentiality

Key Responsibilities:

• Scrub and assist on various surgical procedures, following direction from the Registered Nurse and surgeons
• Prepare operating rooms: set up tables, instruments, and supplies specific to each procedure
• Confirm all surgical tools and equipment are functioning and report any maintenance needs
• Follow established protocols around safety, environmental, and infection control measures
• Maintain cost efficiency with sterile supplies and instrument care
• Support emergent situations promptly, communicating effectively with team members
• Deliver supplies to units and ancillary departments as needed
• Ensure all rooms are clean, organized, stocked, and equipment is properly stored or returned
• Provide compassionate support to patients pre-operatively, emphasizing dignity and privacy
• Uphold patient and department confidentiality at all times
• Participate in continuing education, department process audits, and professional development initiatives
• Mentor new staff as needed and assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
