Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00-07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Team-oriented, Positive Attitude, Ability to Stay Busy, Patient-centered Description: This is a nursing position for an oncology specialty unit. The unit consists of 36 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6. Staffing includes Clinical Care Coordinators, RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries. Equipment used in the unit includes I-med, I-mobile, vitals machines, glucometers, PCA, wound vac, chest tubes, and surgical drains. Documentation is managed through a specified electronic health record system. Scheduling requires availability for every other weekend. Patients include Med-Surg, Oncology, and Hospice patients. The unit also accepts hemodynamically stable patients requiring cardiac monitoring without interventions. Typical procedures performed include wound vac changes, drain removal, IV/PICC line management, Foley insertion/removal, and NG insertion/removal. Floating may extend to Med-Surg and Telemetry level patients. The required uniform is pewter (gray) for nurses and Caribbean blue for PCTs. Weekend work is required every third weekend.
