Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.Position Overview:The purpose of the Maintenance Supervisor’s role is to oversee the maintenance department responsible for all equipment, property, buildings and facilities within a manufacturing plant. The incumbent in this position will also be responsible for supervising maintenance personnel and supporting the operations of production, engineering and safety departments.Your Day to Day:Act as technical expert regarding mechanical equipmentSupervise, set directions, and delegate daily work of assigned hourly mechanical and electrical employees to support the plant goals of safety, environmental and productionLead safety process, training for crews and accident investigationsMonitor safety and environmental processes and complianceIdentify, isolate and facilitate resolution of maintenance performance issues such as quality of work and work efficiencyTroubleshoot process equipment operational problems and maintain, repair, and upgrade plant equipmentIdentify and execute ways to track metrics of performance and improve production levels of employeesShare knowledge and business experience with Plant management teamManage projects including obtaining contractor quotes, design help and directing contractor crewsFacilitate training of maintenance personnelIdentify, implement, and maintain best maintenance and safety practicesConduct daily and monthly shift meetingsMaintain and enforce good housekeeping strategies and methodologiesOversee the maintenance scheduling and work order systemManage the maintenance and operations of the mobile equipment fleet and storeroom inventoryManage hourly time and attendance processAssist with MRO purchasing issues through maintenance softwareMay be required to perform other related duties as assignedWhat You Bring to the Team:High School/Technical School diploma with a minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience in a mechanical and/or electrical maintenance roleBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field preferred with a minimum of 5 years’ experience managing an industrial maintenance hourly workforceExperience in preventative and predictive maintenance with demonstrated success in increasing equipment reliabilityWorking knowledge of plant systems with the ability to troubleshoot and implement corrective actionsSolid understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, air compressor systems, cutting/welding techniques, fluid dynamic systems, and metal fabricationGeneral knowledge of mobile equipment repair, A/C and chiller systems and hydraulicsThorough knowledge of high, medium and low voltage systems/control systems and instrumentation, and general industrial electricalProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OutlookWorking knowledge in AutoCAD drawing interpretationWorking knowledge of SAP systems preferredStrong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsSolid project management and presentation skillsDemonstrated leadership skillsSolid analytical and quality improvement abilityAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAbility to interface at all levels of the organization, both internally and externallyFundamental knowledge of laws, codes, and regulations (OSHA, National Electric Code, etc.)Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook (Solid)Willingness to respond to emergency situations outside normal work scheduleManages a staff of 40 hourly employees, sets direction and deploys resources.
