Position Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Tax Associate to join our growing public accounting team. This full-time, on-site role offers the opportunity to work with individuals, closely held businesses, partnerships, and S corporations while developing strong technical tax expertise. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering accurate, high-quality tax services, enjoys problem-solving, and is eager to build a long-term career in taxation.

Key Responsibilities


Gather, organize, and analyze client financial information, including accounting records from QuickBooks and other bookkeeping platforms.

Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals (Form 1040), partnerships (Form 1065), S corporations (Form 1120-S), and other business entities.

Develop and maintain supporting workpapers, schedules, and tax documentation.

Research federal and state tax laws, regulations, and technical issues using authoritative resources.

Assist with tax planning projects and year-end tax strategies for individuals and business owners.

Support responses to IRS and state tax notices, examinations, and client inquiries.

Communicate effectively with senior team members regarding project status, technical questions, and client matters.

Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely completion of engagements while maintaining high professional standards.

Stay current on tax law developments, industry trends, and emerging technologies that enhance efficiency and client service.

Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.

Master's degree in Accounting, completion of 150 credit hours, CPA licensure, or active progress toward CPA certification preferred.

Strong foundation in individual and business taxation through education and/or professional experience.

Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience utilizing technology and AI-powered productivity tools is a plus.

Experience with CCH Axcess or similar tax software is preferred.

Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, particularly during peak tax seasons.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
