This role will report to Equipment Engineering Sr. Manager and is based in Newark, DE. This is a fully on-site, in office role.Role and Responsibilities:Support equipment across various manufacturing lines, with differing levels of complexity.Skilled in diagnosing and fixing manufacturing equipment.Automated Equipment: Provide support for equipment through PLC and HMI programming, encompassing motion and servo control systems.Ability to modify existing control logic to improve safety, performance or throughputParticipate in commissioning of new automated equipment and ensure all devices function as designedInstallation, commissioning and support of vision systems for tracking and quality inspectionsConducts engineering tasks in mechanical, electrical, and structural systems for testing, material handling, welding, and machining equipmentOversee equipment installation as well as start-up and implementation projectsDevelop equipment specifications and documents for the manufacturing assembly, testing and material handling processesOversee project timelines, financial planning, and prepare comprehensive status reports for leadershipWork with vendors, facility engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production teams to manage project implementationFind ways to boost safety, cut costs, enhance efficiency, and raise qualityPrepare or approve system as-built drawingsWillingness to work flexible hours, including off shifts and weekends, as required bySkills and Experience:BS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent5+ years' Manufacturing or Equipment Engineer experienceExperience troubleshooting automated equipment and systemsFunctional knowledge of PLC's, low voltage controls, three phase power distribution, industrial control panels, electronic sensors, pneumatics, hydraulicsEquipment requirement development and specification writingKnowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standardsProficiency with Autocad/Solidworks/MS Office suiteStrong Communication skills (written and public speaking)Physical Requirements:Ability to stand/walk for up to 4 hours per shiftTraverse stairs and navigate the facility throughout the dayOccasionally lift/carry up to 15 poundsVisual acuity sufficient for product inspection, computer editing and review of digital/printed materialsHearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staffAbility to perform essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodationBloom Energy is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
