Budget AnalystThe AOPC is seeking a talented and driven budget analyst to join our Finance team. This professional role involves overseeing the ongoing budgeting and financial needs of the Unified Judicial System (UJS). Responsibilities include preparing budget projections, gathering vital financial information, crafting annual funding requests, monitoring expenditures, and planning the use of financial resources. The selected candidate will work independently under the direction of the Budget Administrator.Job DutiesConducts a fiscal review and oversees the budget throughout the fiscal year for the designated appropriations.Ensures that financial transactions are charged correctly to the appropriation and accurately reflected in financial reports.Responsible for monitoring purchases and tracking contract encumbrances in the financial system.Prepares budget requests by gathering and organizing all necessary information for the assigned appropriations.Meets with and guides department managers in formulating their budget needs, providing periodic expenditure information.Collaborates with budget analysts to consolidate all budget requests into a single submission for the UJS, ensuring it meets required formats and established deadlines.Responsible for preparing and distributing the annual contract listing, including ongoing entry, review, and maintenance of contract information in the accounting system.Monitors the spending of federal grant funds from a budgetary perspective and reviews costs for their allowability.Reviews proposed legislation to prepare a fiscal impact analysis.Monitors monthly revenues from filing fee collections and investigates any deviations from historical data. Prepares cash flow analyses that include various funding scenarios.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; ANDTwo years of professional budget analysis experience.An equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training may be considered.Additional Requirements/PreferencesStrong analytical, effective communication, and writing skills are required.Attention to detail is required.Ability to work in a team environment is required.Advanced working knowledge of SharePoint, Excel, and Word is required.Experience with information technology (IT) terminology and budgeting is strongly preferred.A satisfactory criminal background check is required.Job HighlightsAOPC offers an impressive benefits program that includes affordable medical, dental, vision, and prescription plans for you and your eligible family on your first day.Enjoy 13 paid holidays, 12 sick days, and 12 vacation days or more each year.
