Job Summary and Qualifications

We are currently seeking a Monitor Technician to join our team. As our Monitor Tech you will perform a variety of duties including EKG monitoring and interpretation, compiling, transcribing, preparing and maintaining records for your unit. You will also provide information and communication services to visitors and staff and assist nursing staff in maintaining efficient operations on the unit. Responsibilities include:

• Interpreting Rhythms and Arrhythmias.
• Reporting all changes in heart rate/rhythm to appropriate nursing staff.
• Maintaining Telemetry Supplies.
• Recording patient condition utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Performing duties with full understanding of related age specific factors.
• Orienting and mentoring new staff members.
• Following Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Qualifications:

• BLS Healthcare Provider.
• Completion of Basic EKG/Arrhythmia course. Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• CMT/Cardiac Experience Preferred.
• Experience as a monitor tech in a hospital setting preferred.
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
