The Calibration & EOL Test Technician (Contractor) will support day-to-day calibration and end-of-line testing of LiDAR systems. This role is hands-on and involves operating automated test stations, following controlled procedures, documenting results, and escalating failures or unexpected behavior to engineering.Job Responsibilities:Set up and fixture units on automated calibration and EOL test stationsRun scripted calibration and test sequences and review pass/fail resultsRe-run test or calibration steps when allowed by documented proceduresCollect logs and test data when failures or unexpected results occurMaintain accurate traveler, test, calibration, and unit recordsFollow laser safety, ESD, interlock, and equipment-handling proceduresEscalate abnormal results or repeated failures to engineering rather than troubleshooting outside the documented processJob Qualifications:Hands-on optical/electro-optical test or calibration experienceExperience operating automated test or calibration stationsBasic Linux command-line proficiencyAbility to follow procedures and document results accuratelyGood judgment on when to re-run a step versus escalate to engineeringStrong laser safety and equipment-handling awarenessCoding experience is not requiredAssociate degree or equivalentMinimum of 4 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education and advanced certification in addition to prior work experienceExcellent communication and time management skillsMust be organized and have strong attention to detailMust be expected to work independently once trainedExperience with Lidar testing activitiesJob Details:Contract: 6-9 monthsPay Range: $50-$60/hrLocation: Pleasanton, CA (Onsite)Benefits Package: Protingent offers competitive salaries, insurance plan options (HDHP plan or POS plan), education/certification reimbursement, pre-tax commuter benefits, Paid Time Off (PTO), and an administered 401k plan.About Protingent: Protingent is an Award-Winning provider of top-tier Engineering and IT talent, trusted by companies at the forefront of innovation — from Software and Aerospace to AI, Clean Tech, Medical Devices, and Connected Technologies.
