Grades 6 - 8 K-5 School Speech Therapist | Lafitte, Louisiana

A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide specialized support in an educational setting serving students across multiple grade levels. This position involves delivering individualized speech and language services to students in grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12, with a primary focus on one-on-one intervention to meet each student's unique communication needs.


Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting comprehensive speech and language assessments for students.
• Developing and implementing individualized therapy plans tailored to student needs.
• Providing direct one-on-one therapy sessions to improve speech and language skills.
• Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student progress.
• Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of student progress and therapy sessions.
• Participating in team meetings and contributing to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and review.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

• Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist with state licensure.
• Experience working with students in grades K-12, across multiple grade bands (elementary, middle, and high school).
• Strong skills in delivering individualized 1:1 therapy sessions.
• Ability to adapt therapy strategies to diverse student needs and learning environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and educators.
