The Clinical Nurse role at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center supports clinical operations within Theranostics Clinical Operations, with a strong focus on coordinating and implementing patient care across the continuum. The Outpatient Clinical Nurse plays a critical role in organizing patient flow, providing clinical oversight, and advocating for patients and families throughout their care experience. The Outpatient Clinical Nurse functions with a high level of autonomy and accountability in a complex outpatient setting. The ideal candidate for the Clinical Nurse role is a licensed Registered Nurse with experience in outpatient and/or procedural clinical settings. This individual demonstrates strong clinical assessment capabilities and effectively manages complex patient care workflows while ensuring adherence to regulatory, research, and institutional nursing standards. The candidate's education, experience, licensure, and certifications align with professional nursing practice expectations. Key Qualifications & Experience Oncology nursing background preferred Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑touch, concierge‑level patient care Strong clinical judgment and organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and EPIC (internal and external navigation) Self‑directed, highly motivated, and able to work autonomously Core Responsibilities Provide individualized, concierge‑style care to patients within the Theragnostics program Coordinate and present new patient workups to faculty during multidisciplinary conferences Participate in faculty conferences to review patient status, treatment plans, and follow‑up care Maintain ongoing communication with patients to support care navigation, including travel logistics, laboratory workups, education, and treatment readiness Collaborate closely with Diagnostic Imaging Advanced Practice Providers (DIAPPs) in the Theragnostics clinic Manage laboratory follow‑up and maintain comprehensive historical treatment records for faculty and clinical teams Engage in frequent communication with leadership, contributing to program growth and strategic vision Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders across MDACC Ensure compliance with clinical, regulatory, and research protocols Professional Attributes Highly autonomous and self‑driven Strong leadership presence and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, evolving clinical environment Shift Schedule Monday - Friday / 8am - 5pm / flexible schedule to accommodate patient return calls on a concierge demand.
