Responsibilities Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist guests in meeting their video gaming needs, inform guests about promotions and the trade-in program, recommend additional items as appropriate, apply selling behaviors during each transaction, and thank guests for choosing GameStop. Circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, ensuring top-notch guest service. Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone, answering calls promptly, courteously, and professionally. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as the new title reservations program and the Pro Rewards guest loyalty program. Ensure store areas, including restrooms, are clean, organized, and merchandised according to guidelines. Ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Complete Omni-Channel orders daily. Safeguard company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness and safety best practices. Conduct store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise, and move products from stock to front-of-store to keep products represented and organized. Support management in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative and operational duties. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transaction totals in the POS system. Ensure closeout paperwork and bank deposits are completed correctly. Assist management in maintaining sufficient cash and change; make daily bank deposits following guidelines. Check shipments for discrepancies or shortages and report discrepancies to the Store Manager as needed. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls, ensuring labeling and packing lists are correct. Supervise and delegate tasks in the absence of management. Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures and follow opening and closing procedures. Observe associate performance and provide timely feedback to store management. Qualifications Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required. At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Must be able to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day. Required Skills And Abilities Exceptional guest service skills and genuine, friendly assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment. Meet performance expectations including attendance, professional dress, and grooming. Operate the POS system and complete required paperwork accurately. Basic math and alphabetizing skills. Self-motivation and ability to work as part of a team to complete tasks promptly. Problem-solving and judgment abilities. Follow instructions from written, oral, or diagram form. Deliver bank deposits following loss prevention safety guidelines. Flexibility to work extended hours/days, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Remain effective under pressure and handle stress appropriately. Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and lift merchandise up to 30 lbs from ground to 4 feet.
