Job TitleMechanical EngineerJob DescriptionPrimary Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform 3D modeling of parts, assemblies and drawings using Solidworks (preferred)Understand heat-transfer fundamentals and possess the ability to perform FEA thermal analysis (experience with Flotherm a plus)Interface with Electrical Engineers for collaboration on printed circuit board design layoutPerform stress simulations and/or motion studies within Solidworks (preferred)Research and pursue samples for testing of new technologies such as vapor chamber, heat-pipes and advanced thermal transfer materialsReview and complete standard engineering checklistsPerform Design for Manufacturing (DFM) analysesAssist with ongoing thermal studies with a focus on reducing internal component temperaturesCompile information for concept proposals and product design reviewsAssist with FDM 3D printer optimizationDevelop concepts and detailed designs for fixturing to aid with product assembly and testAssist with debug and corrective action related to module and test station assembliesOperate optical inspection equipment to assist with incoming and outgoing inspection of product and materialsAttend weekly meetings and design reviews as requiredProvide feedback, alternate ideas and suggestions that could improve product quality and overall company productivityEducation & ExperienceEducation should consist of B.S. degree with a major in Mechanical Engineering or general Engineering/Science.No experience required.Skills & Other RequirementsMust be proficient with Microsoft Office3D Solid Modeling (Solidworks preferred) experience requiredThermal analysis (hand calculations or computer simulation) techniques a plusShould be well versed with hands-on assembly and disassembly of mechanical itemsMust be hard-working with good communication skills.Must be able to work both independently, as well as part of a team.Working ConditionsThis role will be based on-site in Horsham, PAMay require occasional off-site meetings or travelRegular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessaryInteraction with team members and external contacts is a regular part of the jobMay require occasional overtime and flexibility in work hours to accommodate the executive's needsPhysical RequirementsSitting for extended periods while working on a computer or conducting meetings.Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.Mobility within the office environment to attend meetings or interact with colleagues.Safety RequirementsAll employees are required to attend scheduled training, follow the site EHS procedures and Corporate EHS standards.
