Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab/EP RN requiring 2 years of recent specialty experience and a MO or compact RN license for a day-shift hospital assignment with on-call requirements.

Details

• Cath Lab unit performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
• Average daily census of 4 procedures per lab with approximately 16 visits per day
• Patient ratios of 1:4 during days and 1:3 during nights
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• On-call required, including weekends
• Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• Charting completed in EPIC
• Scrubs provided by facility

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab/EP specialty experience required, with no employment gaps greater than 90 days in the past year
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Proficiency in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, including PCI, TAVR, Watchman procedure, Impella insertion, IABP placement/removal, and pacemaker insertion required
• Experience with vascular closure systems, sheath removal/monitoring, and procedural sedation monitoring required
• Skilled in interpretation/management of dysrhythmias, 12-lead EKG/ECG, and ventilator management
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs, blood product administration, and central line/PICC line care required

Additional Information

• Perform both diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including stent placement, angioplasty, and electrophysiology procedures such as pacemaker insertion
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation and emergency medications during cases
• Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted
• Maximum RTO of 7 days permitted
• Travelers with 18 months of prior service at the facility must have a 3-month break in service before returning
• Former permanent employees of the health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
