Responsibilities include:
- Lead hospital-wide nursing operations and maintain accountability for the quality of nursing care provided by staff
- Collaborate with medical, clinical, therapeutic, and operational leaders to support patient-focused care and hospital performance
- Develop and oversee patient-care programs, nursing policies, procedures, and standards
- Represent nursing leadership on committees including the Governing Body, Quality Council, Medical Executive, Infection Control, Education, and Ethics Committees
- Implement and maintain compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, state, hospital, and rehabilitation nursing standards
- Manage nursing staffing using patient acuity, staffing matrices, FTE requirements, and budgeted nursing hours per patient day
- Provide oversight of nursing budgets, staffing performance, employee accountability, and disciplinary processes
- Analyze clinical and operational data to develop programs that improve patient outcomes, manage illness, and reduce complications
- Current RN license as required by Massachusetts regulations
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field, unless otherwise dictated by state regulation
- Advanced degree, plan to obtain an advanced degree, or demonstrated knowledge and skills associated with an advanced degree as required by the employer
- Minimum five years of experience in an inpatient hospital setting
- Minimum two years of recent nursing management experience within the past five years
- Nursing management experience must include 24-hour accountability, FTE management, policy/procedure oversight, budget responsibility, and disciplinary action
- Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred
- Commitment to obtaining CRRN certification within one year of becoming eligible
