Legal Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented, full-time, in-office Legal Assistant to support our civil litigation practice. This role requires an organized individual to manage case files from inception through trial or settlement and maintain our digital practice management network via Clio. Key Responsibilities Clio Case Management: Create new matters, input client data, track billable time, upload pleadings, and manage litigation workflows within Clio. Docketing & Calendaring: Monitor litigation deadlines, schedule depositions, hearings, and trials, and sync all dates to the master firm calendar. Document Preparation: Draft routine legal documents, including complaints, answers, motions, notices, discovery requests, and basic correspondence. E-Filing & Court Systems: Manage electronic filing (e-filing) in state and federal courts, and coordinate with process servers for service of process. Client & Witness Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, opposing counsel, court clerks, and expert witnesses. Trial Preparation: Organize trial binders, compile exhibits, index discovery materials, and assist attorneys with logistics for hearings and trials. [ Qualifications & Skills Technical Proficiency: Experience using Clio for case management and billing, alongside advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. Attention to Detail: Accuracy in proofreading, formatting legal documents, and tracking court deadlines.
