Surgical Dental Assistant - Full Time/Temporary

Our practice, Oral Surgery Group , is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Surgical Dental Assistant to join our team! This is a unique and exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about Oral Surgery and committed to delivering outstanding care. What You’ll Do Prepare the treatment room, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and that all necessary instruments and supplies are available; sterilize and maintain surgical instruments; set up equipment such as suction devices, dental chairs, X‑ray machines, and surgical lights. Assist with oral surgery procedures: prepare patients, explain procedures, answer questions; assist surgeons during surgery, anticipating needs and providing instruments and materials; maintain a sterile environment; monitor vital signs and comfort; handle and dispose of surgical waste and hazardous materials. Provide patient support and education: give postoperative care instructions, oral hygiene practices, medication administration, dietary restrictions; answer questions with reassurance, educate about prevention and regular visits; document accurate records. Administrative duties: schedule appointments, coordinate with staff, manage patient records, update medical histories, handle billing and insurance, inventory management, ordering supplies, and perform other assigned duties. What You’ll Bring High school diploma or equivalent (required). Valid X‑ray license (required). Previous experience as a dental assistant, particularly in Oral Surgery (highly desirable). Discharge experience (highly preferred). Knowledge of oral surgery procedures, instruments, and materials. Familiarity with infection control protocols and safety measures. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, compassionate and patient‑centered. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in dental software and computer literacy.
